A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal. Proverbs 12:10 (NIV)

All of my animals are registered and extremely gentle in spirit.  Here is a little story on each of them how them came to Amazing Grazers Kingdom!

HARVEYHarvey is our senior member!  He is a 25 year old quarter horse and has participated in many parades, birthday parties, festivals and enjoyment trial riding.  In his younger days he was a barrel racer.  Now in his retirement years he ministers to many by just being the most gentle horse ever!

One day at a Festival my daughter was very hurt by a friend.  As a mom I was looking for ways to ease the hurt she felt and dry the tears from her eyes.   She kept going back and forth to a 4-H exhibit and riding Harvey.  I saw her love for him and asked the owner, "Ok, how much?!"  The owner said, "$300.00" and he is yours!  SOLD!  What a joy he has been and continues to give us.  God Bless Harvey!

COCO AND KEYSTER:  Coco and Keyster were my first minis!  I got them on Thanksgiving Day and have been thanking God for them ever since.  They were purchased from Theresa Puckett at Crooked Creek Ranch in Galatin, TN.  Coco was pregnant when we purchased her.  Keyster was newly weaned.  I didn't know much about them and didn't know it would hurt Coco for Keyster to occasionally nurse her. (being that I tandum nursed myself!) Coco lost her baby one week after purchase.  The vet seems to think the stress of moving and Keyster nursing caused her to miscarry.  It was a very sad day at the farm when this happened and we buried our first little foal fully formed close to the house with a scripture on the tombstone that read, "Watch the animals and they will teach you."  Coco indeed DID teach us all that donkeys are very sensitive because tears were in her eyes.  I will never forget how she reacted and how she bravely went forward like animals do.   Theresa, being the awesome donkey owner she is, bred Coco again for me much later and she is now in foal for 2008 and doing great!  Lesson learned.
God Bless Coco!

Keyster is our designated "Yard Donkey".  There doesn't seem to be a pen he can't get out of which has given him the nickname, Houdini!  So we gave in and let him just stay in the yard and kids have "poop duty" daily!  When my husband travels, Keyster is allowed inside.  Sorry, honey!  God Bless Keyster.

SILVER DOLL: Silver Doll is a miniature palomino spotted horse.  She was a rescue horse given to me by my cousin.  The person he got her from had put a halter on her at birth and left it on even though Silver Doll was growing.  When she came to us, she bit and kicked and no one could touch her.  It took three men to hold her while we peeled off the halter and doctored it with salve.  I continued to doctor her throughout one entire winter and by spring time she was fully trained and gentle to handle.  All she needed was love.  I gave her to my neice, Kinley and she continues to live here at Amazing Grazers.  In another year or so, she will be our mule mom.  God Bless Silver Doll!

LITTLE JOE:  Little Joe is a miniature pony, 13 years old.  I was standing at an auction one day beside this man talking and looking around.  His son rode up on Little Joe and told me he could pull a cart and ride 100lbs or less!  Needless to say, I came home that day with Little Joe complete with harness and cart.  My husband was a little surprised to say the least but now loves him.  Little Joe has been entertaining parties, festivals and parades and will continue to do so.  He is very gentle.  God Bless Little Joe.

One day my neice and daughter told me that it wasn't right for Little Joe and Silver Doll to live together and not be married!  After much explaining that didn't seem to do any good, we had a horse wedding!  Crazy I know, but the kids loved it.  It was complete with veil and tie and top hat.  My sister made corsages out of apples and carrots and my brother in law sang!  It was priceless and you may see part of the ceremony here:
Oh yea, we are all about the fun!

JACK:  Jack is our residing "father of our mules".  I found Jack through our Ferrier, Jeff Porter.  He went from a field of mares to our field with Harvey!  Boy was he ever upset!ha  We are now using him to be the dad to our future mini mules.  Jack is VERY gentle and loving and can't wait to complete his calling in life!  Jack has warded off coyotes which makes him even more precious to us!  God Bless Jack!

LUCY:  Lucy is a miniature horse and to be the first lady of the mule part of our farm.  I was on the internet one day looking for mini farms and one popped up about 4 miles from my house that I didn't even know about!   I visited LittleSteppers Miniature Horse Farm immediately and met David and Christine Chambers and what a blessing they have been to me.  She sold me this lovely lady even though Lucy was very special to her.  Lucy is a gentle and loving soon to be mom!  God Bless Lucy!

ROCKY and the girls:  We purchased this guy and gals from Rural King one Easter and hince our egg supply!  The girls work hard keeping us in eggs and Rocky works hard fertilizing them and being the king of his castle!  He also serves as our guard rooster when strangers come around!
God Bless our chickens!

DUCE:  Duce is a Yellow Lab that was given to us by a friend my husband works with.  I was NOT a dog person when this happened!  I guess it was fair since I surprise my husband all the time with new equine, he surprised me with Duce!  I went to pick this dog up one morning in Orlando, Florida at 5:00am.  It was still dark (keep in mind I was still NOT a dog person) and I had to keep reminding myself that I love my husband, I love my husband, I love my husband!  Duce got in the back seat and as we are driving down Interstate 4, he jumped in my lap licking my face.  Long story short, I love this dog with all my heart and would fight anyone for him!  He made a dog lover out of me!  He eats, sleeps and lives in our home and is a great protector of our family.  God Bless Duce!
